Okay folks, I have questions. I'm starting a Master's program in January, and I need to create a profile on Second Life as part of my studies. (How freaking cool is that, by the way?)
The problem? I have never used this in my life. I have heard about it, but actually created an account tonight and was lucky I managed to get my poor avatar fully clothed. HELP! I'd like to have some working knowledge of this once I start classes in January!

I tried second life for about 5 minutes earlier this year, but it was too much of a time commitment (especially since I was already playing World of Warcraft.) I didn't last long enough to be any help to you unfortunately.
I managed to get my avatar dressed in jeans and a t-shirt. It took an hour. Crap!
I've not used it either, we all talk about it at work, but nobody does it. I'll try it this week...
That's why I never signed up. I couldn't devote the time to it. From what I hear however, there are many cool things about the world.
